Tara Parks

DETROIT
Tara Parks, partner and lighting designer with Lumen4, received an Honors BA in Interior Design from Michigan State University. Her drive to develop her lighting design skills brought her to Illuminart in 1995 where she began her career as a Lighting Designer. While at Illuminart, Tara also performed the duties of Project Manager on numerous projects. Later, at Palladia Architects, Tara further refined her design skills as a Senior Lighting Designer, and during her career has consulted on many commercial, retail, residential, hospitality, and specialty projects.

Tara received her Lighting Certification (LC) from the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions in 2000. She has been an active member of the lighting design community, both as a member of the NCQLP Test Committee and Chair of the Simulations Writing Subcommittee, and as a lighting design instructor for universities and professional organizations. Tara is also active in her community, having sat on the Planning Commission for the City of Plymouth, Michigan for multiple years.
