Jeff Brown

Jeff formed Colorlume, Inc. after several years of working on a wide range of lighting projects as a project manager and senior designer for a well known and respected lighting design firm. He took a brief sabbatical from lighting design to oversee and direct the application design engineering efforts for a noted fiberoptic lighting manufacturer, where he gained valuable insight into the manufacturing end of the lighting business.
As Design Principal of Colorlume, Inc., Jeff is design lead and provides management overview on all projects in addition to coordinating efforts with the Design Team. His design responsibilities include initial lighting conceptualization, calculations, specification writing, final design documentation, shop drawing review, and site review & final aiming.

Jeff recently served as a judge for the 2009 Next Generation Luminaires Design Competition. He also lectures on various aspects of lighting at trade shows, conferences and design centers throughout the U.S., most recently speaking about LED Lighting at the AIA Triangle Chapter's Energy Focus Program in 2009. His work has been featured in Architectural Lighting, Record Lighting, Residential Lighting and Professional Lighting Design magazines. He holds four patents, including one utility patent for the design of a luminaire used in the commercial office environment.
